OMG... this is awesome...
Took a walk down the beach after breakfast. The tide was just going out and the waves were surfer worthy I'm sure. I think my Superior Girl would even be impressed with this. Wish she was here to share this with me!
Picked a few rocks... took a few pics... and just totally enjoyed the views... This is much better than the dentist's office...
Life is Good...
I'm not bored.. no, really I'm not... REALLY!
So, I'm sitting at my table and just digging into the best eggs I've eaten for many moons when I thought.. damn this looks as good as it tastes.... well, d'accord I had to grab my camera and take a photo
before I demolished it.
Then... then they bring our a fruit dish with local fruits and it's prettier that the first dish...
No.. I'm not bored.. LOL.. it's so nice and peaceful here I'm in a very mellow place right now.

Tamarindo Beach... very very nice....
Wow.... today was a lovely day.. took a transfer out to Tamarinto beach and staying at a GRRreat little Bed and Breakfast called Sueno Del Mar.
The really wierd thing about this place is the fact that it is where Josh and Jill honyemooned several years ago. I didn't have any inkling of that but it's strange how I ended up here.
The B+B is not in a high density resort area. Kind of quiet and after several days of drilling teeth it's kind of nice. Wish Jewels were here to share but ... :) .. it is what it is!!!
The sunset was great tonite.. don't know if I will head out for dinner or just live off the fat for tonight.
Oh.. one of the photos I posted was of a friend... there are Iguanas and Lizards everywhere.. and I understand there are crocodiles in the low lying areas here as well.
It's damn hot here... don't know if I can do any touristy stuff like kayaking or golfing... may just sit around the pool for a few days enjoying the cervesas that appear to grow on the trees!
yeah... Life is Good.

first dental visit done.. still kicking!
Well, my first visit is complete. Dr Parra had a consultation with most of the staff in his office and it looks like I get a complete re-do of my mouth.. bridges and crowns throughout.
We started this morning with a root canal. I may get to have one more but that's OK, it went well this morning and he was very gentle .. which is good. I'm back in the chair at 2pm today for round 2!
Photos above show the process of digging the nerve out the root and apparently the second pic is what I can realistically assume what my smile will look like by next week.

Off to the dentist...
After a quick trip to Winnipeg to pick up my new passport, I'm off today to Costa Rica. I've been looking at various options for "dental tourism" and Dr Parra in Liberia Costa Rica is the man with the drill.
I have a lot of dental work to get done and I'm hoping that Dr Parra's positive reviews hold up for me.
And I also should be able to squeeze in some sight seeing and a couple of rounds of golf... of course!

Home again
We drove back to Denver on Friday following the Arkansas River. It was a beautiful drive although it took quite a while. We stayed at the Mariott at the airport. I've been using priceline bidding for rooms lately and got a great room/nice hotel for $60. It cost Jewels more to buy me dinner that nite but that's the price she pays for travelling with such a nice tour director.
Poor Julie was feeling sickly and crappy to the bitter end. Not a very nice holiday at all for her but we both agreed that Santa Fe was a wonderful spot to visit and worth seeing again if the opportunity arose.
We had one of the roughest flights ever on the way back to Minneapolis. Even at 39K feet we were feeling the bumps from the rough weather that was bringing storms and tornadoes to the midwest. It was nice to get our feet onto solid ground again.
I drove up to Manitoba and will be here most of the week waiting for my renewed passport as I'm booked to fly from Duluth to Costa Rica on Sunday to get my dental work done. Now that should be interesting to see the results in a couple of weeks.
Ahhhhhh.. life is GOOD.

More New Mexico... so nice!
Well today was just a wonderful day taking in the scenery on the highways between Santa Fe and Taos.
We started out on the "high" road which was mostly scenery of highrock formations with the mountains in the background.
Along the way we stopped in at the shrine at Chimayo. Chimayó is also believed by many to be the site of a miracle which occurred about 200 years ago.
Miraculous healings are believed to have occurred at the site where a wooden crucifix was unearthed. Because of this a chapel was built in 1816 called el Santuario de Nuestro Señor de Esquipulas. This chapel, now commonly called el Santuario de Chimayó, is the destination of thousands of pilgrims and travellers each year who come for various reasons; some hoping to be healed, some simply for curiousity, and some hoping to be restored spiritually by the tranquility and hospitality of the surroundings.Taos was a nice little town but it mostly consists of a variety of shops and galleries and I think that Jewels and I are just not good enought shoppers to spend more time with this type of attraction.
The return home was in the valley following the Rio Grande.. great trip.. so nice and to bad Julie is feeling so sickly. A terrible cold and fever and cough..
but Life is Good, n'est ce pas?

Holiday time in the SouthWest.....
We're off on a week's holiday and are visiting an area that neither of us has experienced before.
Yesterday we flew into Denver and drove about 7 hours south into New Mexico. We plan to spend the week in Santa Fe and use it as a base to explore around the northern part of the state.
If last nite's dinner was an omen, the food part is going to be all GOOD. Today we drove around the city to check out the sights and plan on areas that we wanted to visit. It was supposed to be stormy today but the sun was out and we had a nice time exploring the downtown market area which is about 3 blocks from where we are staying.
We booked a small house known as a casita. It is the adobe style in which all the buildings in this area are built.
We have the plans made for the next 4 days and are hoping the weather stays lovely.
