Falling a bit behind on my posts.

So, I finally got up to Vancouver Island and I'm house sitting a lovely home with 2 great little kitty cats.  The house is warm and inviting which is good because the daily rain we experienced in Washington State has continued up here.

Now having said that, I have to say the high light of this trip north is spending time with the grand kids and my lovely daughter.  It's been simply a blast and I will have much more time to spend with them.

That last pic would be the cats... the rest we took on our stroll up the beach which is only a 5 minute walk from the house...

This house sitting gig is grrrrrrreat!

And after the museum, a hike in the Grand Forest.

What a lovely spot.. huge red cedar trees.. trees covered with moss from the constant wet climate... we took a hike after we got  back from Seattle.. just cause it's such a nice place.

Great spot... great hiking partner.... Life is Good....

How exciting does it get... two locales in one day.

We started out our day with a ferry ride over to Seattle.. we didn't get to see the museum on our last trip so we checked online... found out the hours it was open... and set sail...

I took a lot of photos.. it is a beautiful museum with some wonderful paintings and a lot of native American Indian art.  Posting a few pics that really caught my eye.

We spun through the museum in record time.. of course there is a story to each museum piece but unfortunately.. that stuff didn't really sick... but remember...

A bit of excitement out off my front deck...

Well, it's not often that one of the largest Super Carriers cruise by your front yard.  Julie and I were playing our nightly card game when all of a sudden she started to squeal...

Well.. of course I thought she had drawn a deuce but nooooooo....

She noticed a little boat going by the front of our house....

A bit larger than the ferry boats that cruise by every hour or so ... the USS Nimitz dwarfed the ferries in size and was a bit breath taking to watch it go by... The Nimitz is the navy's largest aircraft carrier and is one  of the largest warships in the world.  It is also the oldest US aircraft carrier still in service.

Apparently the naval base here is the third largest in the US so it's probably a common sight.

No sign of "the donald" on board....

Life is Good...

Just a few pics... Seattle.

Wandering around Seattle.. here's a few photos of Pike's Fish Market.   Great place for people watching.

Heading back for a bit more this week.. Life is Good.

So... just heard Christmas is over.

And I just woke up in Wonderland....  Well, it could be.  Julie and I are out west... we drove down to Washington State a couple of weeks ago and are on a lovely resort known as Bainbridge Island. We are home sitting ... and looking after a couple of gorgeous pussycats as part of the deal. The home is a large place with lots of windows to watch the boats, wildlife, and ferries from out deck. It's a really pretty area and a short ferry ride from Seattle.

We will be here until the 4th of March and will be doing a bit of visiting in Oregon when done here. Then Julie heads back to Duluth and I'm heading "north" to Vancouver Island. Will be doing a home sit with 2 new kitty cats to play with.  Also, very close to Jill and her girls... I can't wait to see them.

Here are a few pics.. I've taken a lot but it has been rather wet and overcast so not great for taking photos.

Anyways...  Here is some local colour....

Seattle's skyline from the ferry that goes out to Bainbridge.

Looks like pot is quite easy to access in this area,

Seattle's landmark space needle.

This is an old building in Port Townsend.  Spent a day wondering around this beautiful old port town.

We had a great meal at the Purple Onion in Chinatown Seattle.. Had no idea of what we were ordering  but the meal was wonderful and cost $15 for the two of us.

Nothing like a hotel with low rates, modern rooms, and is "fireproof"!

More Port Townsend.

Will try to post more soon.. having a wonderful time... Life is Good.

Yule Lads all done.. Happy New Year to All.

After Christmas, Jewels and I took a quick road trip .. first down to Milwaukee to visit Josh, Jill, and the twins.  Grandma Kathy was there as well so it was a nice visit.  We stayed at a hotel near Josh's house which had a pool so the grandma mermaids did their duty and accompanied the kids into the pool.

Too bad I forgot my trunks at home... but hey, every event needs an official photographer n'est ce pas.

After this visit we continued on to Cam and Cassies to visit them and the girls.  We went out for a nice dinner on New Years Eve Eve... overnighted there and hit the road back to Duluth on New Years eve.

All in all, a nice way to ring in the new year.. Too bad we are all so spread apart - would be so nice to get everyone together for a gang-visit.

ah well... Life is good!
