Heading back east .. soggy Manitoba!!

Last week, I headed home to Manitoba to finalize the house sale make sure all was set up for possession of June 1 for the new owner. So... Jim Eirikson of no fixed address!! That has an interesting ring to it.

I visited mom for a day/nite before heading south to Duluth. I was amazed by all the water at the Lake Manitoba Narrows. Fields flooded for as far as the eye cud sea! Got some neat shots of pelicans feeding along the way.

I had a very interesting time getting into the states this time. I was honest and told the immigration guys that I had just sold my house so I guess I looked kind of suspicious travelling into the states with my truck and trailor loaded to the nuts with household items as well as my work things. I was told I would probably not be allowed in but after some discussion, I was given entry with a limitation of being out of the states by June 20.

I was also told that I should have a bit more info regarding a fixed address before trying to re-enter the states so I guess it's time to get serious and find a new address. I will be in Thunder Bay early next week and perhaps will find my new home!

No big deal.. Life is still GOOD!

Out West...

Last sunday, Jesse and I headed out of Edmonton for Courtenay to visit Jill and Wayne and the kids.

The week has blown by and we are off again tomorrow. Jesse flies back to Edmonton and I'm headed for Vancouver for a very important meeting... VERY important .. it will probably dictate the next few months workwise and EZ Street Canada company wise. Exciting times as it looks like we will have a very busy summer and depending on input from our partners, it could be very lucrative as well. Enough said!!!

We have done a lot here the past week. I have totally enjoyed the time spent with my kids and my beautiful little grand daughters. We've played 3 rounds of golf, eaten some fine BBQ dining, and as you can see by the photos, have spent some quality time touring Denman Island on one of the lovely sunny days we have had.

Life is just .. Nice!

Great new view from my Deck!

Well, I've been getting a bit of static about my lack of posts onto this blog. I guess that's just a natural progression from living a very quiet ... and well behaved.. lifestyle.

But today I have good news. My view from my deck reflects my "FOR SALE" sign with a new addition to it... "SOLD"...

The deal closed today and the new owner takes possession June 1.. so I have some time for my yard sale and to clean out some things I don't use. Time to get ruthless!

My little friend will miss me. He almost eats out of my hand.

TOO WIERD!

#%-**&@!+*&*

So, the big plan after a beautiful day yesterday was to start raking the lawn and pulling and trimming the garden plants. Yahooooo, Spring is here! Well, so much for that damn "Life is Good" crap. This morning we wake up to a couple of inches of snow in the yard! So much for Spring.

NO... WAIT!!!

I just checked the images of winter and noticed each one has a date of April 1st on them.

APRIL FOOLS!!!

Soooo, apparently I'm still sleeping and this is some kind of sadistic nightmare. It really is Spring and when I wake up from this dream, Jewels will head off for work and Annie and I will get to work on the lawn and the garden and it will be green.

I'll probably contemplate going golfing this afternoon.

Yeah, Life is Good!

on the road again

Well, it's time to get back to work and create a little income.. that's the opposite of outgo... if you know what I mean.

Anyways, I had an opportunity to do some work in Alberta - a trip up to Ft McMurray to demo some lights, followed by making a bigold pile of asphalt in Edmonton this weekend - and back to Ft Mac for a tradeshow next week. All in all, nothing to exciting but it's nice to be out of the outgo category for a bit.

I have to say that the drive up to Ft McMurry is ... well... scary to say the least.. dodging potholes on the highway is kind of nice.. simply cause I like potholes... but it's mostly two lane highway with lots of curves and hills and TRAFFIC.. big big long cumbersome slow, huge, roadhogging trucks hauling loads that don't really look like anything .. except possibly the structural beams of a 3 story building... and even that wasn't bad.. till it got really foggy..

Anyways, I made it up and back and only have one more drive up and return to live through next week. Then, who knows.

but I enjoy it... love the drive and life is good.

Something different..

I was talking with my curling boys after Tuesday's game and they suggested that if I was looking for something to do Thursday, that I should take in the high school playoff game between Duluth East and Grand Rapids.

So, I picked up tickets yesterday and Jewels and I headed over to the arena for the big match. I have to say that I was not disappointed as the game was fantastic and the atmosphere was just a lot of fun with over 5000 people in the stands. After leading the game 1-0 most of the way, Grand Rapids finally got worn down by the bigger Duluth team who scored to tie the game with about 2 minutes left and then won 2-1 with a quick goal in OT.

All in all a fun evening, cheap entertainment and of course, Life is Good!

More "oddballs" in the news...

Well, after Mick and Justin, today's Minneapolis Star Trib posted a wedding announcement of what has been one of the most ... what would be the word... "entertaining" ... couples in the state of late. My Minnesota friends will appreciate my homage to this pair.. who really do deserve each other. Denny Hecker and Christi Rowan have been dodging their jail sentences for about 6 months now and they are one of the first couples.. on record, to have gotten married by phone!

I think if Denny lives that long, he will be out in about 12 years. Christi gets out in 4. Imagine what a handsome couple they will be by then!

Live is good.. congratulations kids - you deserve each other.
